About Dotun

An accountant who got tired of watching good earners stay fragile.

Dotun Ayodele-Bamisaiye, CPA — founder of Wealth by Design, host of Finance Friday, and a two-decade practitioner of the numbers most people never see.

The practitioner behind the system

For more than twenty years, I've worked where most money conversations never reach: inside the actual numbers. As a Chartered Professional Accountant, I've prepared, reviewed, and untangled the finances of hundreds of professionals, families, and business owners.

That vantage point teaches you something the personal finance industry rarely says out loud: income doesn't protect anyone. I've seen six-figure earners one missed invoice from panic, and modest earners with unshakeable stability. The difference was never the size of the paycheque. It was whether their money had architecture — structure, protection, and purpose.

I trained as an industrial engineer before I became an accountant, so I see everything as a system: inputs, flows, failure points, redundancy. Wealth by Design is what happened when I applied systems thinking to personal finance — the five-pillar architecture I now teach every week, live, on Finance Friday.

The mission is simple: financial literacy that goes beyond tips and hacks, and gives people an actual system — one that keeps life's disruptions from resetting their progress.

What I believe about money

Five convictions behind everything I teach

01

Systems beat willpower

Discipline is unreliable by design. Structure isn't. Give every dollar a job and the system holds even when motivation doesn't.

02

Protection precedes growth

Wealth is preserved by what you don't lose. A buffer isn't money set aside — it's the system that keeps life from resetting your progress.

03

Income has a ceiling — enterprise doesn't

Earning capacity is the foundation, but trading time for money caps out. Ownership and enterprise are how the ceiling breaks.

04

Invest from philosophy, not emotion

Don't buy investments — build a thesis. A written plan is what keeps you disciplined when markets get emotional.

05

Wealth should outlast you

Legacy, generosity, and stewardship aren't the epilogue of a financial plan. They're the point of one.
